The science of rackets, perfected
I was born the same year Wilson introduced the legendary T-2000, the first stainless steel frame, forever remembered as Jimmy Connors' "Excalibur".
The T-2000, originally designed by René Lacoste in 1953, was a shock to tradition. For nearly a century, rackets had been made of wood. Suddenly the Space Age had arrived in tennis. A young Connors saw the test model, declared he had to have it, and the rest is history. With its trampoline - like power, the T-2000 helped him create one of the most devastating baseline games the sport had ever seen.
Like Jimmy, I fell in love with the game early. I started playing at five, surrounded by a sporting family and inspired by competition at every level. In 2014, a serious wrist injury threatened to end that passion. Instead, it pushed me deeper into the world of rackets - into the science of weight, balance, swing weight, flex and the endlessly complex world of strings.
That search for solutions became an obsession. Today, I play with The Tecnifibre TF40 305 16M, paired with Tecnifibre's signature string, Razor Code 18 gauge, chosen for its blend of control, spin , and comfort. Always curious, always testing - because innovation is at the heart of performance.
From this passion, Zx Racket Lab was born. What began as a small stringing service at my local club has evolved into a specialist business trusted by both pro tour players and weekend warriors.
With labs in The Cotswolds and now London, strategically located between the LTA's National training Centre and Queen's Club, we provide professional stringing, precise customisation, and premium accessories. For those further afield, our door-to-door mail order service makes accessing elite racket care as simple as ordering your weekly shop.
